Carlo Gandolfi with Martino Guidobono Cavalchini
Project type: architectural and landscape
Design levels: competition inviting ideas
Awards: third place at Locale/Globale exhibition, Aragonese Castle (Ischia), 2008
On occasion of the Junkbuilding exhibition (Triennale Bovisa, giugno 2008) the a12 group was invited to curate a section of the exhibition and thought to call a series of friends and colleagues to put together an imaginary abacus made of small spaces to be treated gently.
The choice was to create a cycling system made of ten small architectures able to stage ten unemployed or potentially interesting spaces within the city of Milan. The idea is that these small, ephemeral architectures can serve as small theaters, resting and relaxing areas, or projection and listening rooms.
The project was also displayed at Aragonese Castle in Ischia for the Locale/Globale exhibition, where it won the third prize.
