The village of Sluderno stretches along the Sluderno stream, emerging from the side valley at the foot of Coira Castle. Paths and roads passing by the cemetery lead toward the valley floor, reaching Malles and Glorenza. However, the new state road and the railway line disrupt the continuity between the compact urban core and the open landscape. The design for the new kindergarten aligns with the site's morphology, preserving views from the village toward the valley and vice versa. The elongated, primarily single-story building relates to the landscape without fully occupying the space between the school and the municipal hall. The kindergarten garden acts as an urban threshold between the village and the valley. A portico allows for views from the new small square into the courtyard. The boundary wall and the building itself trace a new horizon, integrating the surrounding landscape. The structure, with its slab floor, emphasizes the horizontality of the project, contrasting with the delicacy of the glass facade.
