The project highlights the value of the relationship between collective buildings and open spaces, avoiding the vagueness of mechanical interstitiality and seeking to fully integrate them into the urban fabric. The reasoning extends to the Cassarate – USI Campus – Parco Ciani – Lake system, where a new vision is proposed: the Cassarate line, once a boundary between two zones, becomes an ecological hinge that connects Lake Ceresio with a series of open spaces, from Parco Ciani to the university campus, all the way to Cornaredo. This upstream path invites you to rediscover the city from a new point of view. The design of the new campus is not limited to its local function, but aspires to become a new urban center. The new public space, with its strong identity, balances the existing campus, like a counterweight in an ideal equilibrium between the two poles.
