bunker is an architecture and research studio based in Milan
Located in a tower building dating back to the early 1930s, this apartment has been completely reimagined, redefining the spatial relationship between the interior and the exterior. The project is structured around the dialectic between the intimate nature of living and the openness toward the city, emphasizing the connection between the domestic space and the urban context. The large terrace, conceived as a natural extension of the interior, is transformed into a planted lawn—a green oasis suspended between architecture and landscape, onto which the living room and kitchen open. The perception of space is amplified by a fluid layout that moves beyond rigid traditional compartmentalization, favoring visual and perceptual continuity. The surfaces, finished with essential materials, interact with the light and the changing presence of the vegetation, creating an environment in constant transformation where the boundary between inside and outside dissolves into a new concept of living.
